As a volunteer with NextWave Future Leaders, you are a vital part of our mission to empower youth & foster leadership within the community. Your role is essential in creating a positive, safe & supportive environment for all participants. This Volunteer Code of Conduct outlines the expectations & responsibilities that come with your involvement. By adhering to these guidelines, you help us uphold our values & maintain the integrity of our organization.
Professional Representation
Volunteers are expected to present themselves professionally in both appearance & conduct while representing NextWave Future Leaders. Communicate our mission, values & programs clearly & enthusiastically to participants, sponsors & the community.
Age Requirement
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate in our programs & events.
Commitment & Reliability
Fulfill your assigned responsibilities as outlined by NextWave Future Leaders. This includes being punctual for scheduled shifts & notifying staff in advance if you are unable to attend. Be prepared for varying schedules, including early mornings or late evenings as needed.
Respectful Communication
All interactions—verbal or written—must be respectful & conducted in a professional manner. Avoid using profanity or derogatory language that could offend others.
Inclusivity & Diversity
Treat all individuals with respect, embracing their backgrounds, beliefs & life choices. Promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued & supported.
Harassment-Free Environment
NextWave Future Leaders has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment. This includes any unwelcome attention or behavior of a sexual nature. Report any incidents of harassment immediately to a staff member.
Confidentiality
Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information regarding participants, fellow volunteers & organizational operations. Do not disclose personal information about youth or other volunteers without explicit consent.
Fundraising & Solicitation Policy
Volunteers are not authorized to solicit funds or contracts on behalf of NextWave Future Leaders. The use of our name or branding for personal business proposals or unauthorized events is strictly prohibited.
Substance Use Policy
The consumption of alcohol or illegal substances during volunteer activities is strictly prohibited. Remain sober & focused while representing NextWave Future Leaders.
No Gossiping
Avoid engaging in gossip or idle talk that may harm others' reputations or create a negative atmosphere within the organization.
Reporting Violations
It is your responsibility to report any violations of this Code of Conduct to a staff member immediately.
Consequences of Misconduct
Any inappropriate behavior may result in immediate dismissal from volunteer opportunities with NextWave Future Leaders.
