NextWave Future Leaders Volunteer Code of Conduct

🌊 Welcome To The NextWave Future Leaders Volunteer Code of Conduct

You’re not just a volunteer; you’re a changemaker.

At NextWave Future Leaders, you are the heartbeat of our mission. By joining us, you’re helping to spark leadership and empower the next wave of our future generation. We are so grateful to have your energy, talent and passion on board.

To keep our community safe, vibrant and impactful, we ask that you dive into these guidelines and uphold the high standards that make NextWave a leader in our rangitahi (youth) empowerment.

1. Be the Face of the Future (Professional Representation)
When you’re with us, you’re an ambassador for change! We ask that you represent NextWave with professionalism and a smile. Whether you’re chatting with a participant or a sponsor, let your enthusiasm for our mission shine through in everything you do.
2. The 18+ Club (Age Requirement)
To lead the way for our youth, all volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
3. Show Up & Shine (Commitment & Reliability)
Our youth depend on you! Being punctual and prepared is the best way to show you care. If life happens and you can’t make your shift, please give us a heads-up as early as possible. Remember, leadership sometimes means early mornings or late evenings, thank you so much for bringing your "A-game" regardless of the clock!
4. Words Matter (Respectful Communication)
Let’s keep the vibes positive. All communication whether in person, over email, or via text should be professional and uplifting. Profanity and derogatory language have no place in our leadership circle.
5. Everyone is Welcome (Inclusivity & Diversity)
NextWave is a mosaic of different backgrounds, beliefs and life choices. We celebrate that! Your role is to foster an environment where every single person feels seen, heard and valued.
6. Safety First (Harassment-Free Environment)
We are committed to a zero tolerance policy regarding harassment of any kind. We pride ourselves on being a safe haven. Any unwelcome behavior should be reported to a staff member immediately so we can take action.
7. The Circle of Trust (Confidentiality)
Privacy is a top priority. Please keep sensitive information regarding our participants and fellow volunteers strictly confidential. Protecting the stories and data of our youth is a sacred trust.
8. Protecting the Brand (Fundraising & Solicitation)
To keep our mission focused, volunteers are not authorized to solicit funds or sign contracts on behalf of NextWave. Please do not use our name or branding for personal business or unauthorized projects.
9. Stay Sharp (Substance Use Policy)
To provide the best support for our future leaders, we require all volunteers to remain 100% sober and focused during activities. Alcohol and illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
10. Good Vibes Only (No Gossiping)
We’re here to build people up, not tear them down. Avoid gossip or idle talk that could create a negative atmosphere. Let’s keep our conversations constructive and kind!
11. Your Voice Power (Reporting Violations)
If you see something, say something. Reporting a violation isn't just a rule it’s how you protect the integrity of the NextWave community.
12. Upholding Excellence (Consequences of Misconduct)
We value our community deeply. To protect it, any behavior that goes against these values may result in immediate dismissal from your volunteer role.
Thank you for choosing to ride the NextWave of our future leaders with us! Together, we’re building a brighter future, one leader at a time.
