Hosted by NextWave Future Leaders
Welcome to the Youth Leadership & Business Summit an inspiring journey designed to empower the NextWave of Future Leaders! To ensure a productive, enjoyable & safe experience for everyone, please carefully review our rules & guidelines.
1. Respect & Inclusion
NextWave is a safe space built on three pillars:
Respect Yourself: Push your boundaries but listen to your body. Respect Others: Support your peers and keep the energy high. Treat everyone with respect, regardless of background, beliefs, or opinions. Encourage collaboration & support your peers. Leadership thrives in a positive environment. Zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination or inappropriate behavior. Respect the Environment: We are kaitiaki (guardians) of the land we use.
2. Participation & Engagement
Attend all sessions, workshops & activities punctually. Stay actively involved - your voice & ideas matter. Follow instructions from facilitators & staff to maximize learning & safety.
3. Communication Etiquette
Be mindful of language & tone during discussions & group activities. Ask questions & share insights constructively. Use electronic devices responsibly during sessions (IF necessary). All electronic devices must be switched off by 11 PM (failure to comply may have your device removed for the remainder of the night and potentially the full summit)
4. Dress Code
Wear your summit ID lanyard at all times. Activewear: Comfortable clothing for moving, climbing, outdoor activities & wellness sessions. No dresses or skirts to be worn during the summit, however may be worn for our celebration night (no mini skirts or strapless tops/dresses). Warm Layers: A good hoodie or fleece for the evenings. Wet Weather: A waterproof rain jacket. Footwear: Sturdy sneakers/boots for activities & sandals/slippers for downtime. Swimwear: For water-based activities (if available at the facility).
5. Safety & Emergency Protocols
Follow all safety guidelines & event-specific rules. Report emergencies or safety concerns to the nearest staff member immediately. Adhere to curfew times & stay within designated summit areas.
6. Prohibited Items & Activities
Alcohol, drugs & smoking are strictly forbidden. Dangerous items, including weapons, are not allowed. Unauthorized recording of sessions is prohibited to respect intellectual property & privacy.
7. Accommodation Guidelines
Maintain cleanliness & respect shared spaces. Follow lights-out times to ensure everyone is well-rested. Be considerate of roommates & avoid disruptive behavior.
8. Social Media / Photographs / Videos Policy
Share your experiences responsibly using the official event hashtag (#NextWave2027). Avoid posting inappropriate content or images. Respect others' privacy when sharing photos or videos.
9. Consequences of Rule Violations
Minor infractions will result in a verbal warning. Serious or repeated violations may lead to dismissal from the summit without a refund. In extreme cases, guardians or authorities may be contacted.
10. Board Break & Activities
I understand that there is a board break & Olympic games outdoor activities[weather permitted] based on Leadership & Team Building. These activities are optional & both supervised by trained facilitators but may involve a risk of hand or wrist injury, a twisted ankle or similar even when safety measures are followed. I understand I must follow instructions from the facilitators & staff in this event at all times.
11. A Final Note
This summit is your opportunity to grow, connect & lead. Embrace every challenge, respect the journey & inspire those around you. Together, we’ll create a legacy of future leaders shaping a brighter world.
